Abstract

Introduction: The static balance postural is affected by informations coming from the somatosensory, visual and vestibular systems, and that’s why people with visual impairment have alterations in this physical valence. The sport is associated with a better balance in seers athletes, but, unfortunately we do not know very much about this relationship in athletes with visual impairment. Objective: In this context, the goal of this research was to evaluate the static balance postural of the five blind soccer players¸ comparing them with players of the same sport, but without visual impairment. Methods: The sectional study was made with 8
five blind soccer players and 7 futsal/football society players, whose doesn`t have visual impairment. The static postural balance was evaluated with a power platform (stabilometry). It was adopted the positions: bipodal with the feet together and unipodal right and left with and without an instable surfaces (foam). The participants realized the study with and without visual restriction. Results: The instable surface caused a higher postural oscillation in the soccer players with a visual impairment independent of the support base. We can also affirm that the players with a visual impairment presented less static postural balance on the support base unipodal comparing with the soccer player without visual restriction. Conclusion: In the power base contralateral to the kicking leg, the postural control of the players with visual impairment was similar to the players that can see with visual restriction, perhaps when the players with visual impairment were compared with players that can see without a visual restriction, the result was inferior, in relation to stabilometry.
