Musculoskeletal pain and mental health of public school teachers in Juazeiro do Norte city – CE after the COVID-19 pandemic

Introduction: Public education in general requires intense physical and psychological commitment from its teachers. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the teaching and learning process had to adapt to technology-mediated teaching, I'm talking about emergency
remote teaching due to social distancing issues, in the face of the pandemic, and with it came the sudden need to enter the world technology and influences on everyday life. This process has possibly contributed to greater exposure to physical and emotional
stress, causing musculoskeletal disorders and pain in general. Objective: To evaluate the self-perception of public high school teachers in Juazeiro do Norte (CE) about musculoskeletal pain and emotional stress after the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: This
is a cross-sectional observational study, where 10 teachers from the state education network in the city of Juazeiro do Norte, Ceará Brazil were collected. Which contained sociodemographic variable questions and also the following instruments: Visual Analog
Pain Scale, Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-10), Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire – QNSO, International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) short version. The frequencies of occurrence of the variables, the averages of the studied population and
also possible associations between the variables will be observed. Results: Of the teachers who were evaluated and participated in the research, 45% had and complained of musculoskeletal pain and emotional stress, which is affected by changes in the work
routine, with a considerable percentage in the lower back and other parts of the body.
