Evaluation of pain, quality of life and functionality in individuals with spinal cord injury

Introduction: Spinal cord injury is a serious neurological condition that affects motor and sensory functions, greatly impacting quality of life. Objective: To evaluate pain, quality of life, and functionality in individuals with spinal cord injury. Methods: Observational study with 30 individuals with spinal cord injury using validated tools to assess pain (VAS), quality of life (SF-36), and functionality (Barthel Index). Results: Participants reported moderate to severe pain, low scores in physical domains of SF-36, and functional impairment depending on injury level. Conclusion: Spinal cord injury significantly affects functionality and quality of life; pain control is essential for rehabilitation.
